Empowering Communities

At CEED Trust, we implement focused, need-based programs in Sustainable Agriculture, Women Empowerment, Children Development, and Community Development.

1. Sustainable Agriculture & Natural Farming

We train small and marginal farmers in chemical-free farming techniques to improve soil health, increase yields, and ensure environmental sustainability.

Key Activity (11th November 2024):

• Kottur Community Hall – Awareness program for 70 small & marginal paddy farmers.

• Andipatti Then Sudar Women’s Movement Office – Training for 30 farmers.

Topics covered included the importance of natural farming, proper use of Biochar (timing, dosage, and mixing methods), and application of organic fertilizers for paddy crops. Free Biochar was distributed to all 100+ participating farmers.

2. Women Empowerment & Development

• Formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

• Leadership training, skill development, and micro-finance support.

• Holistic empowerment covering economic independence, health awareness, and gender equity.

3. Children Development

• Non-formal education and special coaching centres for school-going children.

• Career guidance and counselling programs.

• Establishment of libraries and reading centres to foster learning habits.

4. Community Development & Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)

• Using PRA tools to understand local needs and design community-owned solutions.

• Health camps, blood donation drives, environmental awareness, and solid waste management programs.

• Support for differently-abled individuals and inclusive community initiatives.

These projects are currently active in Theni District and are expanding based on community needs.
